The California Air Tools 20040CAD is a powerful 4.0 HP ultra-quiet and oil-free air compressor designed for professional shops, garages, CNC applications, milling equipment, and medium-duty pneumatic applications. It features a large 20-gallon horizontal steel tank and a factory-installed automatic drain valve that helps eliminate the need to manually drain accumulated moisture from the tank.

The compressor uses twin 2.0 HP SP-9421-22060 motor pumps operating at only 1,680 RPM to provide strong airflow with reduced noise and wear. It delivers 12.80 CFM at 40 PSI and 10.60 CFM at 90 PSI while operating at only 75 dB.

The oil-free dual-piston pump is designed for high performance and durability, with a life cycle of 3,000+ hours before wear. The factory-installed EZ-1 automatic drain valve uses a manually adjustable timer to control both the frequency and duration of the tank-draining process.

Maintenance

The two air filters attached to the motor-pump should be replaced every two years under normal conditions or every year when the compressor is exposed to a dirty or dusty environment. Replacement air filter part number is 90260.
